Your Support Will Make a Big Difference

The DRN is an important support vehicle and resource for enhancing research productivity, grant and publication output, and meaningful collaborative research opportunities. Your support will go toward DRN initiatives and individual faculty to provide them places and spaces to network, collaborate, and enhance their engagement in a community at MSU.

We’d love you to support faculty and research scholars in attending a beneficial professional development event, writing retreats, or grant trainings in spaces where mentoring and other professional support are available to them.

Project Budget

  • $30 = 1 DRN member attends Ford Foundation training
  • $100 = 1 DRN member attends Researcher’s Workshop
  • $650 = 1 DRN member attends the 3-day Stay Retreat writing retreat
  • $1,000 = 1 DRN member attends the 4-day Mafungo writing retreat
  • $5,000 = 1 Launch Award Program (LAP) grant

Faculty of color need unique and supportive spaces to conduct their work and to eliminate institutional isolation. The DRN exists to support the success of its members. LAP awards bridge or help to initiate innovative research to address diverse populations or disparities. These foundational efforts then build toward external granting success.

Your contribution will help maintain specialized programs and workshops that are meaningful and productive for scholars, such as the Summer Stay Retreat or the Mafungo Retreat, which are once per year programs.
